The Environment of Campus

EXPECTATION TO THE NEW RECTOR 

For the time being, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta has become one of the greatest Private University in Indonesia. The acreditation of UMY is “A”. It means that UMY has got great image in the eyes of society and optimistically can attract many people to continue their study at UMY. Nowadays, the rector of campus has been changed. The old rector is Mr. Dasron Hamid. His position now is already substituted by Mr. Bambang Cipto. He has capabality as good as Mr. Dasron Hamid.

As the successor of the old rector, Mr. Bambang Cipto has alot of visions and missions to enggage and evolve this univeristy. As students, we have not got really tangible advantages of this new rector because he’s just sit in the new position. That’s why personally I have alot of expectations towards this new rector. At first, I would like to give my points of expectation generally. Among other things : 1. Evolving the educational system of university. 2. Keeping the environment clean and healthy.

Well, let me give you the further explanation and description toward my points of expectation. First of all, it is regarding the evolvement of educational system at university. We know that, this university has a few faculties such as faculty of social and political science, faculty of engineer, faculty of agriculture, and many others. Take a look at the internal system, It starts with Schedule, we know that every single subject has already been regulated by the system. Take for example: The subject of international relations issues on Tuesday at 9 a.m. It means that we will have a class at that time. The problem is the lecturer often come late meanwhile the students come at punctual time. It will create unsatisfaction to students. This feeling will decrease the spirit and motivation of students. As an expedient rector, you should suggest and even warn them (the lecturers) so that they will not come late anymore. We have to eradicate and annihilate the old perception of Indonesia that “Time is rubber”. Accrodingly we will have an efficient time management. It’s still regarding the schedule, the lecturer often change and make up the schedule at will. Whereas the system has determined. That’s why there are many students complain about it. The students actually have already managed their own schedule for every single subject. So, if the lecturer change and substitute it, it will crush another subject’s schedule and students will have a great anxiety toward this and it will intrude the students’ concentration. That’s why I expect the new rector could minimize it.

Second of all, it is regarding the environment. Goes directly to the problem is that our whole environment is not clean and healthy. As an evidence, take a look at canteen of social and political faculty. There are enormous students smoking there. Whereas the university has rule to prohibit smoking in the campus area. But, unfortunately it is really  useless because the students are still smoking at will. So, what I’m expecting to the new rector is that “Enforcing the rule”. How do we actualize it? Surely by giving a reward and punishment. If students obey the rule, give a reward. But if students break the rule, give a hard punishment. Because the punishment will create “dittern effect” not only to the actors but also for all students not to smoke anymore. On implementing it, there should be several observers at certain places which are very vulnerable to smoke such as canteen, loby, and so forth. I am very optimistic that there will be no students smoke anymore and the environment will be clean and healthy.

             I am Sure, How about you??

            My favourite televison’s program  is “DUA DUNIA”. We can watch that Trans7’s program at 11.30 pm on Wednesday and Friday. For you all who still unsure about the truth of Islamic religion, you’ll be helped by recognition of creatures is created by Allah SWT. Human, the guardian, devil, genie etc. But point of this program is interviewing genie who go into human body inside.

           In fact, genie has faith like human.  There are muslim and infidel genie. Every episodes you will see the recognitation of the infidel genie said “I will throw Adam’s generation into hell. It’s my mission to take revenge against Allah based on driving devil out from the heaven.
 

         Ok, that’s all my short explanation. I recommend you for watching this program. It’s a bit scary but interesting. Let’s enjoy.
